Glimpses from our 2010 Project Voyage to Kenya

Office of Foerderkreis Kenia Freudenstadt e.V., Germany. Updated version. Original English version first published September 05, 2010. Size: 6 pages.

In February and March 2010, a delegation of our society went to Kenya in order to visit the projects and those individuals receiving support, checking out the current state of our projects and thus making sure that the trustful and valuable cooperation with our Kenyan partners be intensified, and further deepened.

Their report together with several snapshots, which have been carefully scrutinized and selected for the society's web page is available by clicking on the following links.

Please do note that, due to data protection and privacy reasons, only a small number of the images taken during our voyage can be published here. In addition to the projects mentioned on this website, we are also supporting persons in need in the following towns, and villages: Nakuru; Siakago; Thika; Hola; Hongwe; and Nairobi.

Those images that we deemed suitable for publication are available on the following pages. Due to the number and size of the image files, we recommend viewing these pages using a modern broadband, i.e. high-speed, Internet connection. With dial-up connections using slow analog modems, page-loading times of at least one to several minutes are to be expected:

   » Highland Views
» Visits to the Tana River Region
» Visit to the AIDS Orphan Project in Baharini
» Inland and Coastal Region Views
» Rabai — Dr. Krapf's Historic Missionary Station
» Additional Images and Visits to the Highlands

Skyline of Nairobi, the capital of the Republic of Kenya. Another example of the exquisite musical welcoming ceremony in Kulesa, which included both dancing and singing. These three young mothers with their young babies received a small present from our society. Visit to a girls-only secondary school that is part of the AIDS orphan project in Baharini.
For the next few years, we are planning to regularly supplement this report by up-to-date information on the development of our projects.
